If you ever feel unsafe — call 911
Trust your instincts. If a situation feels wrong before, during or after an appointment, leave. You're not obligated to stay, finish, or explain yourself. No braid is worth your safety.
For any emergency, call 911 immediately — before contacting us, before anything else. Once you're safe, email us so we can support you and act on the account that put you at risk. We take every report seriously, and you won't be billed or rated for an appointment cancelled for safety reasons.
Call 911Going online & offline
Going online tells the app you're working today. Going offline takes you out of search results — you won't get any new requests until you come back.
From the Home tab, find the slider at the bottom of the screen — swipe it to the right to go online. The slider turns green and the label reads "You're online". Swipe it back to go offline.
First time going online on a new phone, the app will ask for location permission so clients can see how close you are. If you decline, you can grant it later from the iOS or Android Settings → myBraidaPro.
Availability is automatic. The status icon next to the time island shows green when clients can book you, red when they can't. You don't manage that switch yourself — the app sets it for you: online and not currently working = available; offline or already on an appointment = not available. So you can stay online while you're with a client, and you'll automatically come back to "available" the moment you mark the service done.
How orders work
When a nearby client books with you, your phone gets a push notification. Tap it (or the popup that appears in-app) to see the appointment details: customer name, requested style, estimated duration, and amount you'll earn.
Accept the request to confirm the booking. The client is charged a hold on their card; the actual payment is captured only when you mark the service complete.
Reject if you can't take it — pick a reason so the client knows. The hold is released and the appointment isn't billed.
Time limit: requests expire if you don't respond in time (the timer is visible on the request screen). Expired requests stop being yours so the client can be matched to someone else. Don't worry — that's not held against you.
After accepting, the appointment moves into "Coming". Use the slider to mark "On my way", then "Arrived", then "Work done" when the service is complete. Each step keeps the client informed and triggers the right notifications.
Earnings & payouts
For every appointment, you keep 72% of the service price. The remaining 28% is myBraida's commission, which covers payment processing, marketing, customer support and platform costs. Tips go 100% to you.
Earnings land in your Stripe Connect account once a service is marked complete. Stripe then transfers them to your bank on whatever payout schedule you've set — daily, weekly or monthly. You can change that schedule any time from the Stripe dashboard.
See Menu → Wallet to view your current available balance, pending balance, and payout history. From there you can also open the Stripe dashboard to update your bank account or download statements.
Taxes: as an independent contractor you're responsible for reporting your earnings. Stripe issues a 1099-NEC at year-end if you cross the IRS threshold.
Managing your schedule
The simplest way to manage your schedule is the online/offline slider on Home. Go online when you want to take work, offline when you're done for the day or busy.
For ongoing appointments, use Activity (in the bottom bar) to see what's coming up, what's in progress, and what you've completed recently. From there you can message the client, view the address, or — if you absolutely have to — cancel.
Cancellations matter: we ask you to be careful with them. Repeated last-minute cancellations affect your rating and can make clients less likely to book you again. When you do need to cancel, please pick the most accurate reason so we can keep things fair for both sides.
We're working on a calendar with explicit working hours so clients can only book you during the times you set. Until then, the online/offline slider is the way.
Referral program
Invite other braiders to join myBraida and you both earn a reward. From Menu → Refer Friends you'll see your unique referral code, your invite history, and the current reward amount.
How it works: share your code (you can text it, send it via the app, or share from your contacts). When a friend signs up using your code and completes the required number of appointments, the reward is paid out to you automatically through your Stripe account.
The exact reward amount and number of qualifying appointments are shown on the Refer Friends screen. They can change over time as we tune the program.
Account & sign-in security
You can sign in three ways: email + password, Apple, or Google. They all reach the same myBraida account — the one tied to your email address.
Lost your phone? Sign out from all devices via Menu → Account → Security, then change your password (or revoke Apple/Google access). Every active session is invalidated immediately.
How your data is stored: all traffic is HTTPS, our database has row-level security, payment cards are held by Stripe (never us — we only see last-4 and brand), and photos live in private storage with restricted access.
Your location, when it's shared: only with a client during the active window of an appointment, and only after you've slid to "On my way." Outside that window, your location is private.
If you see anything suspicious — appointments you didn't accept, payouts you don't recognize, sign-ins from places you've never been — sign out everywhere first, then email us.
Delete my account
You can permanently delete your account from Menu → Account → Delete account. We'll show you exactly what happens before you confirm.
The 30-day window: the moment you confirm, your account is hidden, you're signed out, and you stop receiving notifications. You then have 30 days to change your mind — sign back in during that window and you'll be offered a "Cancel deletion" option.
After 30 days: we permanently anonymize your name, email, phone number, photo and home address. Past orders and payments remain in our records (we have to keep them for tax and legal compliance), but they no longer identify you.
Before you can delete: you'll be blocked if you have an appointment in progress or if you have un-paid-out earnings on your Stripe account. Wait for those to settle, then try again.
If you signed in with Apple and you remove myBraida from your Apple ID settings, your account is deleted on the spot — no 30-day window — to comply with Apple's requirements.
